I have tried to contact both the supposed publisher and Goodreads about the two Janie and Tom books. Neither ever replied to my detailed contact message. I chose to go on forward to the next step, a Better Business Bureau Complaint, with Goodreads first. Goodreads' reply regretfully proves what  I was thinking. They are not to be trusted. To quote from their reply ..... "To clarify, Goodreads is a book review and recommendation site — we don't sell or distribute books. The listings on our platform are not the books themselves, and exist so our members can track what they've read or want to read." Further disturbing comment..."Goodreads is not in a position to verify or provide documentation of a book's physical existence or publication history." Wow! I have no proof that they are, but to me it sounds like they are "data collectors" meaning anything you type in on the site, any personal info, "tracer cookies" are used, etc and data is collected and they do as they please with such data. Which is not a good thing! I highly recommend to any and all to stay away from this site!! It takes quite a bit of time, but I will now zero in on why the supposed publisher never responded!

Good Reads, Ambassador International and Emerald House Group

It is puzzling that Good Reads and one of the alleged publishers (Emerald House Group) of "Janie and Tom Mysteries" have the exact same address and phone number listed!? Now, it is acknowledged that multiple businesses are located in the building, but the same phone number? No individual office / suite # listed in address for mail delivery?  I have contacted all 3 companies (listed in title of this comment) and no one has replied or even acknowledged contact. At one time, the name of the company was "Ambassador - Emerald International." The two alleged books show only one part of the name (one has Ambassador or and the other has Emerald.)  Good Reads could be seen as having data collection as a goal. Not saying they do, but it looks that way. Why do they not verify the existence of books before posting them on their site? Personally I would be very leery of websites such as Good Reads. As for all three businesses, I will try other methods of contact, and that will take time.
